Volunteer Positions
IMMEDIATE:We are seeking a volunteer Research Officer – Grants & Fundraising to identify opportunities and develop proposals for grants.
The Research Officer will review the materials, tools and opportunities to enable Rural Action International secure grants for overseas projects from foundations, international agencies and non-governmental organizations. The officer will apply most of his / her effort to the information, contacts and resources available on Grant Station.
The Research Officer will identify ten leads and develop first drafts of the documentation required to submit requests for funding.
This Research Officer will work with a board member and a volunteer coordinator. The ideal candidate has access to a computer and the internet and will work remotely with occasional face to face meetings and telephone or Skype calls. Otherwise the research officer will work from the Toronto contact office of Rural Action International.
The Research Officer should complete Phase One by 30th November 2012. It is anticipated that he / she will work approximately 25 hours per week beginning in mid-October.
The candidate will have skills in internet research, analysis, documentation and writing. Knowledge and / or experience in the non-profit / international development sector are preferred.
